Dashboard — User Guide | YoBench
How to use the Dashboard module in YoBench: 9 module widgets, drag-and-drop sorting, responsive grid, persistent layout.
What the Dashboard module does
YoBench's home screen — a single page that gathers widgets for every key module: tasks, servers, sites, RSS, email, Git Analytics, calendar, links. When you open the app you immediately see the state of your whole work environment and jump into the module you need.
What you get:
- 11 widgets for the app's core modules.
- Drag-and-drop of cards for your own layout.
- Responsive grid — 4 columns by default, 5 at ≥1400px, 6 at ≥1920px.
- Order persistence —
dashboardOrderlives in shared settings and survives restarts. - One-click navigation — clicking a widget opens the matching module with context already loaded.
Available widgets
- Tasks — synced-task counter from the Tracker.
- Email — connected email accounts with unread counts.
- RSS — summary of RSS collections: fresh articles, total unread.
- Links — total number of saved links.
- Git Analytics — tracked Git Analytics projects.
- Servers — monitored servers with notifications (when enabled).
- Health Check — monitored sites.
- Calendar — today's events from the Calendar.
- DB Backups — latest scheduled-backup status across your DB Manager connections.
- App Backup — last backup of the YoBench database itself (FTP / Google Drive / S3 destination from Settings).
- Tunnel status — current state of the secure tunnel, traffic indicator and quick connect / disconnect.
Widgets only show up when the corresponding module is enabled in settings (emailEnabled, healthCheckEnabled, gitAnalyticsEnabled, serversEnabled, etc.).
Drag-and-drop and the responsive grid
- Drag cards around — the order is persisted in
dashboardOrderimmediately. - DnD activates after 8 pixels of motion (to avoid accidental drags).
- Card size is fixed; resizing is not supported.
- The grid reflows to window width automatically.
Global settings
Stored under Settings → Dashboard:
dashboardOrder— array of widget IDs in their current order.
Default: [tracker, email, rss, db-backups, app-backups, links, gitanalytics, servers, health, calendar, vpn].
Workflow
- Open YoBench — the home screen is the Dashboard.
- Drag cards into your preferred order — saves automatically.
- Click a widget to jump to the matching module (e.g. Email opens the account list with unread counts).
- Widgets for disabled modules are hidden — enable a module in Settings to bring it to the dashboard.
Next steps
- Tune what feeds the widget counters via the per-module Settings.
- Use the Dashboard as the start of your work day.
